Upcoming 2018

What a great year this is going to be!

First off, I have a solo show opening at Soprafina Gallery in Boston on April 6th! The show is titled Anatomy... which is a thrilling concept for me. It took many years for me to grasp this evolution in my work. An obsession with shapes and stories has always dominated my work, but this new recognition of anatomical shapes as a part of my storytelling has spurned a lot of inspiration and renewed energy in my work. As I work out vignettes on the surface, I use shapes that equate “heads” as a metaphor for a person or personality, “lungs” as a metaphor for the power of voice, beating “hearts” as a metaphor for our private emotional lives, the “brain” as a metaphor for the complexity of thought and intelligence and strong gestural moments to signify “touch”…all of these come together to comment on the interconnectedness of all people, from strangers to family. Please check out this new body of work!

Opening April 6th, 5:30-7:30
